It’s that time of year again!
LGBT+ people have came so far to gain several human rights but clearly we still have a long way to go to bring an end to predjustice and bigotry.
So let’s celebrate our individuality and humanity on this joyous ocassion as we walk united through the streets of Belfast with
one desire; peace.
‘We are One’ is the theme for Belfast Pride this year and this reminds us all of the power of Pride to bring people together, to encourage us to work together for our common cause, to celebrate our diverse identities and stand up for each other.
We will be congregating inside Victoria Square at the bottom at 11am then walking to Custom House Square to join the rest of the parade in plenty of time before we set off at 1pm sharp.
Have a wonderful and safe pride everyone!!!! xo
Welcome to the QUB LGBT+ Society!
We are hosting a night filled with fun and information just for our new members to break the ice with each other and make lots of new friends! This will take place in club rooms 3 + 4 of the Student Union.
There’ll be games, information and lots of good times, and of course, you will get to meet people in the same boat as you as well as the Society’s committee for the year! And there will be F R E E P I Z Z A as well!
We hope to see as many of you there as possible, and don’t forget that there is a general meeting for everyone the very next day on 29th of September, so you can meet the rest of the gang too!
Welcome back everyone!
This coming year is going to be an absolute blast, with it being so full of events for the Society.
Come on down to club rooms 3 + 4 of the SU to find out what the Society has in store for you this year!
There’ll also be a chance for tea, coffee, socialisation, speed friending and ice breakers!
If you would like to, you can also talk about your own experience, by volunteering to speak about it in the meeting. Alternatively, we are offering the chance for people to email in their coming out stories and we will be reading them out anonymously in the meeting.
If you like, we can also feature your story in the “Coming Out” section of our Society website.
We are also going to be bringing the hamper raffle to an end during this meeting, with the winner being announced!
As always, tea, coffee and a kiki will always be provided ♥
We’ll be having our elections for our sub-committee this Wednesday in Clubrooms 3 and 4 at 8pm. We’ll be recruiting an L-rep, G-rep, B-rep, T reps (binary and non-binary), Plus-reps (Asexual, Intersex etc.) and a Questioning/Coming Out rep. The role of these positions is to offer support to members (or people interested in the society) that identify within that orientation. Also, these reps will help out with the general running of the society.
Email any submissions to email@example.com with your speech which you will read out at the meeting. Don’t worry about speaking in front of everyone. We’re all one big happy family that love and support each other! Submissions end on 5pm 26th October.
Tea/Coffee will be provided. See you there!
In the famous words of Bowling For Soup, high school never ends. So why not relieve the glory days of secondary education by dressing up as a member of a stereotypical high school clique as depicted by Western Media whilst engaging in the consumption of alcohol?!
Ideas for costume can include Jocks, Mean Girls, Geeks, Alt Kids etc. as the possibitilies are infinite. We do encourage you to be as creative as possible as there will be prizes for best dressed!!
We will be meeting at 7pm this Thursday in the Speakeasy to go over rules followed by a route that will navigate you throughout a selection of the finest bars in the student area. We are planning to finish the night by checking out the nightlife of the Queer Quarter (Maverick and Kremlin) but we shall see what the overall general consesus for this on the night.
Tickets will be onsale this Wednesday and Thursday in the SU foyer but you can pay on the night.
If our last pub crawl was anything to go by, this one should be SO FETCH! xox
